When you acknowledge the disturbing, ugly, and complicated issues surrounding abuse and then ask for help with those dreadful realities, you’ve demonstrated deep spiritual maturity. Immature faith is afraid to admit the depths of damage, disappointment, and dysfunction. Mature faith freely and openly acknowledges these depths and turns to God for strength and comfort."
